Hey LADS!
So, things have changed a little bit since Lauren started LAD seven years ago and in that time we have learnt a-LOT. We felt that after all that time and with some support and guidance from our pals over at Studio Cotton, that it might be time to give our patterns some love.
So what does this mean?
We thought it might be nice to explain how we have taken on board all of our fab feedback from you all over the years and how this has fed into our pattern makeover.
The most important thing for us was to make our patterns more accessible. Making sure that the body of text wasn’t in purely capital letters and ensuring the background was plainer for ease of reading was a priority. We have tried to add in clickable links on our PDF’s so you can easily access our knitting knowledge pages along with our contact details so that you can access support if you require it.
We’ve spent time refining and rewording some of our knitting abbreviations to help make them easier to understand and tried to reword some of the most frequently asked questions on specific patterns. A notes page has also been included so that you can jot down anything you might need to help your workflow. How organised!
Another thing that we felt was super important was make our clothing sizing more inclusive so we have made alterations to the sizes we now offer on our patterns and explain the size guide according to the style of fit you might be looking for. For example with some of our jumper designs you might want something snuggly or beautifully oversized. We have made these variations much clearer now. Chloe has also taken millions of new gorgeous photos of all of our knits and so we also wanted an excuse to throw in a few more pics of what you’ll be knitting too!
Finally, as you might already know we also have a brand new studio Instagram account, which we have popped in so you can tag us and show off your fabulous knitted creations!
As I’m sure you can appreciate, seven years of LAD means a lot of pattern designs to work though, so it will take a little while to make all of these changes to every pattern. If you have already purchased a pattern as a web PDF then your download url will automatically update with any changes that we have made. If you are buying a physical pattern sheet then to ensure that we don’t waste any we will be reordering new patterns once the old ones run out so will take awhile to filter through.
We hope you love our new look patterns as much as we do! Thank you for all of your feedback that has got us to this point and we hope that our brand new improved designs help make knitting even easier.
Helping us with this pattern reformatting project is myself Charlotte, from Styling by Charlotte, but more on me next blog post!
